HI, I initially had pains with this also. I have it running for development purposes on localhost, but still needs some tweaking. Here are the steps I took; -Install Parser3 via .exe file -In Windows Features On/Off window, turn on 'CGI,ISAPI EXTENSIONS, ISAPI Filters' under IIS > Application Development Features. -In IIS Management with "features view" tab selected, server highlighted in treeview, double click into 'ISAPI and CGI Restrictions' and allow parser .dll. -In IIS Management with "features view" tab selected, website highlighted in treeview, double click into 'Handler Mappings' and under the "Actions" header, select 'Add Module Mapping' and enter; *.html IsapiModule (path\to\parser\.dll) Parser If "*.html" does not work, try a wildcard "*". All my scripts are placed inside C:\inetpub\wwwroot Hope this helps.

Enable to setup Parser 3.4.5 on IIS 8.5

Hello, I would like to have Parser (version 3.4.5) running on Internet Information Service (v. 8.5). I did follow the instructions on "Installing Parser on web-server IIS, version 5.0 or higher", unfortunately without success. I suspect IIS 8.5 version has slightly different steps, and requires some additional "tweaks". Also tried different locations for the Parser scripts: "C:\Program Files\", "C:\", and "C:\inetpub\". Same result. When accessing localhost/"index.html" test page (following lesson 1) and "_test.html" I did get respectively the following messages: - "^navigation[]", and - "# To make this test work, Parser should be made a processor of documents with this extention, what now is not observed. #" I find Parser a quite elegant tool, and I am addressing this forum as a last resource to have it running on my system. The test page itself is in Russian, so don't be scared to see non-latin characters there. If you don't see an error message, everything is fine.

Thank You. 1. and 2. (displays 4) works fine. I tried 3. before posting question, but it displays some errors about encoding. When I open _test.html, there are some non-latin characters. But never mind, it's probably working. That's what i needed to test :-)

Create a simple html file in you document rood that contains ^eval(2+2) And request it by http 3. Parser seems really interesting project. Im graphical designer, i make mostly web and print ads. Usually i have usen readymade cms like Joomla or Modx etc. But now i think i should start learnign parser and start doing my own stuff :) Great job dudes thank you :) If you ever visit Vuokatti in Finland i will buy u beer :) thanks thanks and thanks again. Parser is great for people who dont wanna learn loats of php and mysql to do something. I really like this. ps. i think that it could be good idea to show somekind of administrating system coded by parser? That was only thing i missed here, docs were good and nice showcases really (alltought what can u expect from Art Lebedev Studio, so good quality was not suprise :D ).

Yes, I agree, but for me there is no other way in this hosting (guest-hosting.ch) More than ten letters to support does not make any changes on their side... do an http request which fails to pass proper params, and inspect the environment. find proper xxx_QUERY_STRING environment variable and put it where it should be:

Thanks - thats working (I just overcome some specific varibles like PATH_INFO that was nulled by MyFavoriteHoster{tm})!!! But a new problem appear: I use ModRewrite like

So warper.html run smoothly with only one exception: Instead of $request:query : uri=/help/structure/ I got /help/structure/ Any Idea why it is happend?

PARSER vs CGI Wrapper : version from guest-hosting.ch

Almost the same problem with Swiss-German hoster guest-hosting.ch: everything was working just perfect? and one day they install wrapper. I have no idea how did they configured wrapper (correct on totally incorrect) - but parser fall with "parser already configured " error. After many days of communication with support they say "its your script problem" and "we already spend a lot of time solving your problem" etc.... WHAT WE HAVE GOT PATH_INFO - empty PATH_TRANSLATED - something, but can be solved with hand-made parser.wrapper.cgi from PAF message http://www.parser.ru/en/forum/?id=39760 when I used mod_rewrite a strange shit appears: first I got it empty but after overriding it in parser.wrapper.cgi a variables in a query was lost PARTIAL SOLUTIONS can be solved with hand-made parser.wrapper.cgi from PAF message http://www.parser.ru/en/forum/?id=39760 Parser will work in unfriendly Env but seems like we have to forgot about passing variables from ModRewrite and such.

I just called techsupport... They blame all errors on parser code. So if you thinking about moving your web site to www.godaddy.com think twice. You will need to create wrapper and my be do something else.

PATH_TRANSLATED The server provides a translated version of PATH_INFO, which takes the path and does any virtual-to-physical mapping to it.

if you have no time to argue, just put this into file "parser3.wrapper.cgi":

check that EOL style is UNIX (one character, code=0A). make it executable, and assign it as a handler of .html files.

as you say, DOCUMENT_ROOT is that long. please note this: http://www.itequips.com/_test.html reports that

/html/_test.html
read failed: No such file or directory (2), actual filename '/html/_test.html'

note the last part: actual filename, see? it's way too short. it seems that your hoster provides CGI scripts with some strange DOCUMENT_ROOT/other environment variable. please verify this:

My browser displays Parser code, not its result. What's wrong (I am using Apache web-server)? Parser is not assigned as a handler of your documents after all. To test whether Parser itself works, type this in your browser's address line: http://your_site/cgi-bin/parser3.cgi (or .exe, for Win32 version) You should see something like this: Parser/3.x.x If you can see it, that means Parser is uploaded where it should have been, and its rights are set correctly. If you have uploaded parser correctly, and you have not forgotten to put directives specified in documentation to .htaccess, you may have forgotten to allow Apache to process .htaccess in httpd.conf file by directive AllowOverride (see Apache documentation). To check whether .htaccess is processed, put there some arbitrary wrong instruction, say «mytest», to the very beginning of it. the message you see in browser is about some other problems. now we know that .htaccess is OK. next: check cgi-bin/auto.p, this part:

actually, it's patch in so-called unified format, so you still can patch newer versions, those pieces of code never changed in serveral versions in a row, so it's likely that patch would simply apply, though, with fuzziness. in case of any problems, just go ahead and post build log here/mail me directly.

Ivan, you provide piece of code with 10 characters, while in error message "alphabet size" is 7. please recheck the code you report. message suggests you to make your font file a 4 pixels higher, for it should divide by 7 (number of letters in alphabet).

Martin, regretfully, gdome lib author still considering my suggestions, so for now, you need to patch that lib a little. read appropriate piece in INSTALL: Ctrl+F "patch". and do not forget to copy couple of .h files, as described later in INSTALL.

I can't create image. I read documentation many times. I create an blank gif image (counter.gif), create digits like this.

Problem: The database has got two major types of tables: ${section_name}_sub == section's subsections, where: 'idx' gives each subsection a unique id, 'parent' shows the parent subsection's 'idx', 'children' indicates if this subsection's got child subsections ${section_name} == section's pages (uri, title, etc. included) The problem is to make a universal directory listing machine, that is the one that would check if a subdir has/hasn't any children and do different type of things. In the end it must be like:

The thing is that it must work however many nesting levels are present (that's what I mean by universal lister), so that I could just add new entries in ${section_name}_sub and ${section}. That is, I know that there must be some loop (even more than one), but still cannot get what loop to use and HOW...
